Geography Day

What a week we had! We played a game called ‘geoguessr’ where we were dropped onto an unknown place via google earth. The aim was to look for clues and find out where we were by reading road signs, looking at the terrain and exploring our surroundings.

We looked at elevation maps of Europe to identify which areas were flat and mountainous. We were able to identify the highest mountain in Greece- Mount Olympus. We researched Mount Olympus and Birmingham to create a fact-file which included the population and the local wildlife.

We also discussed what physical and human features are in relation to geography. We learnt that physical geography looks at the natural processes of the Earth which include rivers and mountains. Human geography looks at the impact and behaviour of people such as buildings and canals.
